Swisscom service is really bad, really not recommended for it

I just tried to make a phone call to ask a question, and then three transfers and hold on the line for more than half an hour, and nothing happens.
Really low efficiencies and bad services from Swisscom.

Kinda usual for the Swiss, not just Swisscom

There are exceptions, and I've had good service at times, but it isn't usual.

Also not much different to the UK...

So why are you here?

This is my 3rd country of residence and overall it's the best, despite the legendary customer service...

No hope if more like you whine about a simple customer service call to Swisscom

I have used them earlier and the customer service was excellent compared to other providers. Their packages were expensive though

I've gotten into the habit of using Twitter to ask companies questions, and in the case of Sonos and Lenovo at least, I've gotten very quick feedback.

Never had any problems with Swisscom when we needed help; they've been quick and efficient.

Re: Swisscom service is really bad, really not recommended for it

Whenever I've had to phone Swisscom, I've been through very quickly and been dealt with efficiently.
On a slightly different note, I had to phone up the Vaud Covid hotline the other day to get my middle name added to my Covid certificate. I set aside the morning to deal with the anticipated "Drücken Sie 1 für Deutsch, Appuyer sur 2 pour le français" and then the subsequent long list of irrelevant options and interminable wait on hold. In the end my call was answered on the first ring and my problem directly dealt with by the person answering the phone. All done in less than a minute and a whole morning with nothing else to do.
Just shows that customer service can be done properly, even by an administration. Just wish some of the others would learn to do likewise.

Replace <mobile phone> with the service provider of your choice. I've never had any issues whatsoever with any of the mobile providers. But the only one I've dealt with is Sunrise, and they've been very helpful.

The fact remains, mobile service providers are notoriously rubbish at customer service.

Really low efficiencies and bad services from Swisscom.
And what kind of question were you seeking an answer to? Was it a main stream one or something out of the normal customer requirements?

Re: Swisscom service is really bad, really not recommended for it

Why call them up? They got a shop literally anywhere - walk in, ask. Faster and the guy cant run away... as a cheap "price sensitive" person have I been customer of the competition before - both Sunrise and UPC. Compared to my experiences with the UPC support is Swisscom consumer heaven. The exact reason why I signed up with them when returning to Switzerland during Covid and Home-Office times...

I love Swisscom! Online chat also works very well, seems like you were unlucky to me OP!

I pay more for them just because I know they will sort my issues.

totally agree

I was on Plusnet before moving, average speeds as on average UK broadband is shiet, but at least they have decent customer service on-shore.

I have FB account which is basically mostly used for stuff like this, I don't use FB personally as a 'social network'.

Wingo for example uses FB and even though you have to wait even few days (if you ask something on friday, you'll wait until monday if not tuesday), but you know, you'll get your answer for free. Because calling them is paid number.

Re: Swisscom service is really bad, really not recommended for it

I've just had an excellent response from Swisscom regarding setting up, for my wife, an account for managing her mobile phone which has been registered in my name for the last 20 years or so, and meaning only I could order replacement SIM cards etc.

I used their web contact form and put all the details in there so the right person could phone back and explain the procedure. I would say very professionally dealt with from the Swisscom side.

Re: Swisscom service is really bad, really not recommended for it

A bad customer service experience is often due to a communication failure.

I generally don't have problems dealing with customer support in Switzerland or any of the other places I have lived in. It always helps when you can connect with the person opposite you.

There's that wonderful French expression: "C'est le ton qui fait la musique"

The English equivalents are:
"As you sow, so shall you reap"
"As the call, so the echo"

Well since the OP does not tell us the topic, even after being asked, and does not speak any of the national languages, I’m willing to give Swisscom the benefit of the doubt.
