| | Sunrise - a big scam company
I would like to report what happened to me, i was consulted online by sunrise sales team, they offered me internet with mobile subscription at a price, but they said, what i would receive at home will be higher in price, but do not worry, you will get discount in your first month bill. To my surprise, nothing happened like this.
Today, i called them to cancel, and they said it is not possible at all. I must pay for 24 months for the amount.
I was totally suprised that they do not even give a testing period, a customer should have this right atleast. I read somewhere they provide 14 days for testing the services.

Did you read the contract before you signed?

A salesperson form Sunrise phoned you (so you already had a phone). They offered a joint internet at home and a mobile phone contract “at a price” - presumably a good price - for 24 months.
They said when the confirmation comes to you it will be more than the price quoted, but Sunrise would give you a discount off your first month’s bill.
They didn’t give you the promised discount, so you phoned to cancel the contract only to find that you can’t.
I’m not sure what planet you are from, but I have never heard of a internet/mobile phone provider offers a testing period. Where did you read this?
Seems you would be happy just to get the discount they promised. Far be it from me to defend Sunrise, but they are hardly a “big scam company”…

Please change the title to something more accurate, like perhaps:
"The consequences of not read a contact before signing up to it."

I have received Sunrise offers via phone as existing customer with discounts vs list prices offered. The discount is however applying monthly. I accepted on the phone, received a confirmation per email which included the discount. No billing issues since.
Don't know whether they changed the sales org, but from my experience I have nothing negative to say about Sunrise.

Companies like Sunrise typically record their sales calls. Why not ask if you can hear it back?

Some mobile companies hire outside agencies who sell their products on some sort of commission basis, there is a lot of pressure on these agency people to get new sales contracts and little control over what incentives they dream up.
I do not know if this happened here but it would be a typical example of this sort of fringe operation.

My experience of Sunrise over the past years is crazily excellent . And I‘m fussy. I can call or surf within Europe unlimited for CHF 45.- per month. And I have perfect reception.

When I wanted to port to a new mobile provider earlier this year, Sunrise / UPC totally muffed up the number transfer, got contracts mixed up with a business account we had with them and closed 10 years ago.
Their call centre was unresponsive and incompetent. In the end, the only way to get them off their backsides was to take to Twitter. as at least they seem to put competent staff in charge of complaints on social meejah.
Still with them for internet and telly as Swisscom were not able to give a better line speed for the price.
It’s sad as when it was just Balcab / Cablecom you got a decent service and competent tech support when you called.
Cheers,
Nick

My company switched my mobile from Swisscom to Sunrise, was expecting a nightmare but service is excellent. Roaming rates are far better.

I love these threads with scam in the title. It usually means "I made a mistake and now I want out".

Seriously, I do not know why you people are so toxic towards this guy?
If you get a contract via telephone, you do not sign anything. You just get an order confirmation. And if the seller tells you that the price you will see in the order confirmation email is not the final, but the normal price without the discounts applied, this is clearly a SCAM.
So this guy got scammed into paying 2 years of overpriced services. He wrote to the forum seeking for help and possibly to warn other people, and you are practically calling him stupid and laughing in his face. WTF is wrong with you?
If you cannot help, why even bother replying?
I know that sunrise, as some other people said before, record calls and keep the record, for future issues. Ask them to listen to the call, they must have kept it, since this is your vocal agreement to the contract.
If this is the case, and the seller promised you something different, they have to break the contract if you wish, or change the price to the one they promised on your phone call.

I had the same experience with them, when my contract came to an end they offered me a better deal over the phone. I accepted, and when first bill came it was not discounted. I called them and explained to them what happened, told them the date and approximate time of call. About 2 days later I received a phone call they had listened to the recording and credited me the discounted price and fixed the bills.
Simply call them and ask them to listen to the recording, of course you cant cancel as you agreed to a 24 month contract, but they will discount and credit your account accordingly. People do make mistakes, it is not always a scam...

I have been using Sunrise for more than 10 years, since the first day I came here. Just cancelled everything (phone, home internet) with sunrise, although my wife and I have sunrise loyalty discount which is really really cheap (about 50% discount of the original price for lifetime). At first I just wanted to cancel the home internet because I found a better offer from yallo. However, the cancellation was very complicated. I called them several times, different people gave me totally different answers. Then one girl said she will ask her boss to discuss my case and called me back in 5 working days. Then I waited for two weeks, no response at all..... Then I called them again, and people forwarded my call to other people, making me feel that I am a fool...Then in one phone call I cannot control my anger any more... I told them JUST cancel my contract, no matter how much you want to charge for the cancellation... After that, I decided to cancel our phone contracts with them too.

By swiss law, the only "real" way to cancel a contract is to send a letter with a proof of delivery. Then you may block the paiements if they do not take it into account.

QoQa ran twice a similar deal in Dec 21 and now in Jun 22 offering the same for 35.- and if you stay in CH for the whole month(read no roaming) you get 10.- credited to your QoQa account. Existing customers(45.- monthly) benefited from this deal by paying a signup fee.
