Help with broadband

Hi all,

Moving over from the UK this week, my UK ISP (AOL) have told me all I need to do is move over and let them know when I have a place and they will transfer my broadband connection to Switzerland (within five working days) is it really so simple?

Re: Help with broadband

There is no AOL Broadband that I know of in Switzerland (someone surely will correct me if I'm wrong), you can connect to your AOL account from here but you first need an Internet Provider.

Re: Help with broadband

That was what I thought, I assumed I would need a Swiss ISP to provide the service but AOL were adamant that they could do this once I have a phone line. I think I should call them again.

Yep, agree with vwild. Never heard of AOL being used as an internet gateway here, but I could be wrong.

www.aol.ch just comes up with a page for using AOL Switzerland as a portal, didn't find anything about using AOL as an internet provider.

Not according to AOL's own UK site, moving your broadband connection within the UK takes up to 20 days, so somebody at AOL has no idea what they're talking about when they say it's a 5 day transfer of service to a foreign country which apparently doesn't even have an AOL provider..
