Re: anyone got a Yallo mobile?

Incoming calls in Switzerland are free, but if you are called overseas you pay, I think about a franc per minute. Perhaps Yallo has rates online for when you call from overseas?

Re: anyone got a Yallo mobile?

Yallo is cheap in CH, especially for sms's- which you can do for .05cts on your computer and calls from yallo to yallo are the same price per minute. Out of CH there are roaming fees just like any phone. It's a great basic service and also uses Sunrises antenae's. (I've used it for 2 years).

Here is a link in English for information:

If you have any question's just pm me.

Re: anyone got a Yallo mobile?

I haven't compared the online prices for internet access, but I accidentally managed to kill all my credit on my Yallo account. I upgraded my phone to one with internet access. I somehow managed to get through 25 francs in under 10 minutes!!!!!!

i have since switched off and removed the internet confguration from my new phone to stop it happening again.

here is a link to there current prices

https://www.yallo.ch/kp/dyn/web/pub/...?cont=product3

There price for internet access right now is 0.10 CHF per 20KB. Does anyone know if that is the going rate or is it ultra expensive. Seems a bit expensive to me.

Re: anyone got a Yallo mobile?

I've got a Yallo phone and card for 50SFr and it lasted for ages before I had to refil it (I mostly just text to the UK though) . I've had no problems with coverage.

The easiest way to refil it if you can handle german is to use one of the newer ticket machines at the larger train stations, just put in the cash, tell it your number and about 2 minutes later the credit is automagically texted to you.

Re: anyone got a Yallo mobile?

things you should know about Yallo Mobile:
1. Yallo Mobile over-charges. I sent one 10 centime text, they deducted 10CHF. Over the past two months, they have taken approximately 50CHF that has nothing to do with calls, SMSs, or the SIM card.
2. Yallo Mobile allows the prepaid account to go negative. Mine is sitting at negative -10CHF. I charged the phone with 20CHF and within week, without only one text message sent, the phone is now at -10CHF.
3. Yallo Mobile has you over a barrel with the negative balances, because you have to pay the negative charge in order to get your voice mail.
4. Yallo Mobile charges for customer service calls. So you call to get your money back, they may give you a credit, but they charge you back even more.
5. Yallo Mobile's takes days to reply to the email customer service. That is right *days*. I wrote them about the over charges, they did nothing. I asked for a mailing address to make a formal request for the money, and they refused to provide one.

Re: anyone got a Yallo mobile?

I have a Yallo cell phone & get NO COVERAGE inside my apartment... I live in Zurich city and am on the ground floor of our building...I have to walk outside down the street to the corner to make a call or send a text message. Needless to say, I hardly use my Yallo phone! Would not buy another!

Yallo use the Sunrise GSM Network, so this is not really a comment about Yallo but about Sunrise.

Re: anyone got a Yallo mobile?

Apologies for reviving an old thread, but I saw this yallo prepaid service on comparis and saw that there are rival prepaid services now from Migros, Coop and Aldi. On paper these ones sound quite good, especially Aldi, but I was wondering if there are any hidden catches to these supermarket offers?

Does anyone have one of these and can you recommend them? Just for simple calling and SMSing, nothing fancy!

Maybe you signed up for one of those weird texting services that charge you close to 10 chf per SMS.

I had it and it works very well, I got a SIM card with 20 CHF charge for only 9,90 CHF. In a month and a half I didn't spend all of it. The only problem is that they don't have any kind of data plan, and that you can't get a phone with a subscription. So when my old unlocked phone broke down, I got a subscription with Orange to get a newer phone.

It is really cheap specially if you know people who have Yallo as well (0,05 chf/min), for texting (0,10 chf) and to call abroad, at least to Spain it was only 0.15 chf/min.
