Re: Hindi Indian Channels

your best bet would be to hook up to astra 28 satellite, there are some free to air channel on that one. Sky has quite a few channels (sony, zee, star etc) but for that you will need to arrange for a subscription- which is quite costly when going through local dealers.

also you will have to check if you could install a dish antenna in your apartment. As far as I know, no cable network provides any south east asian channels.

Re: Hindi Indian Channels

Hey, in my opinion the best option will be this:
http://jadootv.com/

you just buy the device once, and will have a lot of pak/india channel for free.
The good thing about this device is that you just need a broadband connection, so if you are here just for a short period you don't have problems such as channels subscriptions contracts (which by the way cost much more than this device) you don't have to install a dish and so on.

It will work everywhere, so if you leave switzerland, you'll be able to enjoy your indian channel anywhere in the world (obviously you'll need a broadband connection).

I got the HD version of the box, and it works wonderfully

Hi I see that this post is a bit old, so I am asking the question again. What is the best option for getting hindi tv channels in Geneva?

Re: Hindi Indian Channels

In addition to the great responses, I'm going to list this post about watching Netflix through Xbox or Computer - Although it only provides you with Hindi Movies (and not all of them) it's at least another way to get your Bollywood fix.

Now watch NetFlix in CH through your computer or XBox.

In addition, I know in Basel there are some DVD video stores which provide great rentals of Bollywood/Tollywood and other languages, I'm sure if you look, you'll find one in your area as well.

good luck!

Re: Hindi Indian Channels

good tips guys but....I am a VERY seldom viewer of hindi type broadcasts but now contemplating it, however....I have an internet ready TV and Swisscom tv subscription:

I want to be able to view hindi channels occasionally
I dont want to pay any subscription charges
I dont mind paying for an external box but it has to be cheaper than the jadoo box listed above, with my seldom viewing its just not worth it.
I want a solution that works direct from my remote and TV

:-)

Any recomendations (exclude anything that requires me to view on computer)

Is there anything that fits the bill ?

Thks.
