If you can't get Sky what do you do?

It may have been posted somewhere else...and I have taken some time to read through what was already here which is certainly useful

BUT the brain cell seems still unable to fathom what other route to watching english tv there could be...

Basically, my place doesn't seem to face the right direction to pick up sat. Having only just rediscovered the joys of it after 4 years am kind of sad about that.

Next best option seems to be Cablecom/Bluewin but there are only a few channel options...

In summary what would be the best cheap-as-chips way to go?

Sorry if this is a repeat of an oft asked question.

a) move
b) search for Bluewin TV (surely you read about it already?)
c) search for Cablecom Digital TV (see comment for b)

Ah the reality check works! Cabelcom/Bluewin it is...

Of course would consider hitching the wagon up and moving on to pastures new but apartment hunting in Zurich requires a lot more energy!

As of April 2007 Cablecom is the cheapest alternative. You can buy a set top box for CHF 150 and receive 93 digital channels including BBC 1-2, ITV 1.-2, Film 4 , BBC World and BBC Prime. There are no additional costs other than the cable connection which is included in the rent. With Bluewin you need to have a telephone and Internet connection running up to CHF 63 a month. While Bluewin TV have more UK channels- ITV 3-4, BBC 3, Sky News- they don't have BBC 1. Cablecom in addition offer the fastest Internet connection for less money. Premiership football will be on offer as from the Autumn via Teleclub which can be received with the Cablecom set top box.
