Renting a mobile phone

Hello- I just arrived in Zurich and I'm waiting for my permit to be mailed to me. In the meantime, I understand I can't get a mobile phone without a permit.

Does anyone know of a place where I can rent a phone temporarily? I know these setups exist for business travelers but don't know the first place to look.

PS- I can't do skype b/c my USB is burnt out.

Thanks for tips anyone can offer!!

Re: Renting a mobile phone

You can get a prepaid mobile phone without a permit, you just need a picture ID.

Or, rent one at the arrival terminal at the airport in Zürich.

Re: Renting a mobile phone

Buy one from an online auction site and then purchase one of those "pay as you go" type cards from the Post Office.
