Does anyone know whether it is possible to get a French mobile PAYG Internet sim card and USB stick. I am going camping in France in May and need to be in touch of the office for some of the time.

Can I get one mail order before leaving Switzerland?

They do have a USB stick and an "offre sans engagement" which to me sounds like an offer without a contract.

Beware: pre-paid devices (including USB sticks) are usually SIM locked for 2 years after you buy them. That means, if you buy a pre-paid USB stick in France, it will most likely be locked only to be used with SIM cards from that particular French network for the next 2 years.

I'd suggest buying a un-locked USB stick on eBay and then just buy a pre-paid SIM when you get to France.

Orange has the best coverage in France, go to the Carrefour just over the border and buy a sim that comes pre-loaded with €20... dead easy.

I guess what I am looking for is a Giga byte limit on a card, but that doesn`t appear to be available. It looks like EU 20 doesn`t last too long, especially when I am looking for a card for a week.
