Getting BBC interactive on a FTA receiver

Just seen an old piece about how to get BBC interactive services with an FTA decoder.

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=457742

I’ve tried but can’t manually tune my VPID and APID (got an old decoder) anyway apparently it works so hopefully other forum members can at least profit from this.

Nick.

Re: Getting BBC interactive on a FTA receiver

Did anyone try the BBCi channels?

I would be interested to know if it works, before I buy one of these cheapy decoders
Nick.

Tagged as data streams, what does that mean? (the dumbed down version would be good)

Re: Getting BBC interactive on a FTA receiver

Basically a "real" DVB-S box will see them as data streams; blind scan should find them or as the DS thread points out, putting in V/APIDs will get you the channel directly.

So what box have you that's deficient?

I have an old box (5 yerars) bought in Turkey complete with Turkish manual, as I said I can't tune in manually the VPID and APID or at least I don't know how to.
