Has anyone here had any experience with ESPN 360? Particularly, I am interested in college football from the USA. |

Hi Fred,
I am not sure if you know, but ESPN America on Cablecom shows College Football feeds from the US on Saturdays during the season.
I am considering going with ESPN 360 and an NFL Pass as soon as the season starts, so we are in the same boat, so any feedback from anyone would be great.

ESPN Europe (available as a sports package with Cablecom) is pretty good. You get at least 2 live college games Saturday (sometimes 3 later in the fall) as well as 3 NFL games Sunday and the Monday and Thursday night match ups. Shame that there was no Arena Football this year.

I'll try to keep you in the loop if I get any info. Also, I will see what hoops I must jump to get Cablecom here in the hinterlands. Thanks.

I assume that to get the live games, one must stay up until very early hours sometimes.

Of course, you need to consider the time differences. But for college games a lot of them start around midday on the East Coast so late afternoon for us in Switzerland and then the main game around 21:00 European time. I saw a lot of SEC games last year, I especially enjoyed watching the Gators having been to see them play in Gainesville, FL years ago. Didn't stay up late for the USC or Huskie west coast games, I need sleep more than football at my age!
Great atmosphere at college games, NFL can't touch them.

Only problem with ESPN America is they only show 1-2 games on Saturday's. So the chances that it is a team that you want to watch is very low. My cousin in Lugano seems to have more luck with satellite. But I think you are going to need some kind of streaming solution to follow your specific teams.
Good luck and look forward to hearing what others are doing.
Roll on you California Golden Bears!!!

ESPN America is a very good service for about 8 francs a month (on top of the Cablecom basic package). It shows college games, sometimes tape delayed on Saturday and during the NFL season you usually get a 6pm game a 10pm game a 2am game and a Monday Night Football. Usually they show the best matchup in each slot. The NFL online pass is also very good.

I have found ESPN 360 for about 20 CHF a month. I like it a lot for active and archived games of USA college football. https://europe.espn360.com/espn360/ncaa?gid=1046 |

I get ESPN 360 through Camcast but we still have our service in the states, so that gives me the option. Good-luck

So as per my earlier post, I took the jump and got espn350 and an NFL Gamepass. Here's my humble opinion so far.
To anyone that's really into their College Football, espn360 is better than ESPN America on Cablecom, which I had last year. You have a choice of games running simltaneously (for example last night, I watched the first half of BC/Kent State then changed at halfway through to watch ND/Michigan).
That said, it costs CHF24 a month, which is more than ESM America, but like said, more games!
AS regard the NFL Gamepass, I didn't catch the Steelers game Thursday, but from what I can tell so far, it works well - apparently you can watch 4 games at one (not possible on ESPN America) and you have access to a game archive.
I would take this option over ESPN America, simply cos there are more game options.
I guess it all boils down to how into your football you are, and if you want to guarantee to see your team.

One of the great things about it is that it doesn't matter if you are not around / awake to see the games live - they are archived and you can watch them at any time you like.
The picture quality of NFL Gamepass is stunning - I did not know that live internet streaming could be that high quality. I watch it full-screen on a 24" screen and it is still pretty crisp.
The price (US$250 for the 17-week regular season) is pretty high, but if you are a true fan then it is worthwhile. Having the ability to watch the exact game that you are interested in and switching to another one when your game is winding down, but another game is about to have a tight finish is truly awesome.

Does anyone know how to do the split-screen on espn360? My understadning was that you could watch up to 4 games at once...

So, a report back to those condering a NFL Gamepass and that may not yet have purchased it...
UNfortnuntely I ahve to report that Gamepass for both the first 2 weeks of the NFL season did not work properly. I think their servers are underpowered, as both weeks you could not watch the first game of the day. Picture qualtiy started of terrible before ceasing altogether. Everyone had the same problem (see other forums) but Neulion (the company responsible for NFL Gamepass) did refund subscribers the first 2 weeks, and promised to sort the probs.
Just something to be aware of.
It remains to be seen what happens tonight when Week 3 starts...
