Digital terrestrial receiver - which channels available in Zurich?

Does anybody know which channels are available with a digital terrestrial receiver box (DVB-T) in the Zurich area - or, how to find out? (Couldn't find anything googling...)

You can get DRS 1 & 2 (in German and dual stereo when available) and SRG (French and dual) and the Swiss Italian (and dual). That's all at the moment and there doesn't seem to be any digital radio at all (yet)...

Over the air, with a quite an old aeriel.

It would be an alternative to the sat problems we're having at my mum-in-law's place (as mentioned on the other thread), as she only wants to watch basic Swiss, German and Austrian TV...

The beauty with digital terrestrial is that the aerial is not critical. A 30" single element one on a stand on top of the TV set gets a perfect picture. There's no lining up to do...

Re: Digital terrestrial receiver - which channels available in Zurich?

Hi,

any updates on the channel list? Is there a website which tracks the Swiss digitalization of TV?

I about to choose if I'm going with the terrestrial version, or if I'm gonna let Cablecom screw me over with their 12-month-minimum-billing.

I still was surprised how retarded the digital TV-stuff is here, althou I shouldn't have been - thinking of the situation for the digitalization for all aspects of life here (e-banking, onlne shopping, government stuff, etc.), compared to advanced countries in the EU.

Luckily there is Englishforum, where all answers can be found!

I got the information from www.broadcast.ch - here is a translated version of the page. Has information on other methods to get TV streams as well.

I also find www.digi-tv.ch useful - here is a translated version of the forum for troubleshooting tips.

Hope this helps.
