| | VHS to DVD or VHS player I can borrow??
Hi All
I have a VHS tape which has a compilation of home videos my friends and I made when we were teenagers - that probably could sound a bit dodgy, but they are not, they are just embarrassing - a bunch of girls getting drunk on two glasses of wine and falling over drunk. Hmm, things haven't changed in the last 15 years.
Anyway, three of these girls are coming over this weekend to celebrate their and my 30th, and I thought it would be quite amusing to get the video on, seeming as we haven't seen it in about a decade. The only problem is, it is on VHS and I do not have a VHS player. Is there anyone here that either has a way to copy VHS onto DVD and could really kindly help me out, OR knows somewhere in Kloten / Zurich that does it, or has a VHS player I could borrow for the weekend?! I know I am a bit last minute, so thank you soooooooooooo much to anyone that can help!!
oh yeah, and totally off topic of the TV / internet / telephone corner but while I am at it, if anyone can recommend a cheesy club for Saturday night, that would also be great..!

I've still got at least one that was working last time I checked, at our place in France. Should probably do a clear-out of all the old tapes at some point, pretty sure there's nothing there I'm ever likely to want that I couldn't find on t'internet.

There's a bunch of services out there offering to rescue old analogue data into the digital realm.

Did you check Ricardo or Tutti? Plenty of VHS players/recorders for sale.

Cheesy club? I am slow today..A club to party in or eat cheese
Somebody was looking for a diy cheese club the other day. Home made hipster cheese.
OP - I'd give you my ancient VHS machine (with movies if we drive) but it will take a few months to get to it, looks like. Borders closed.

That question was posed over 10 years ago. And her last time here was 2016.

How old are your tapes anyway?
I doubt a lot of them actually produce a decent image these days.
I recently bought a Super 8 projector from Ricardo (for 1 CHF) so we could enjoy the films my father made in the 70s and 80s again (the lamp in the old one is broken).
The films are in surprisingly good condition, but we should really digitize them TBH (or rather: have them digitized professionally).
