Needed English Speaking Electrician (swisscom/telephone issues)

I have just moved in an apartment.
It so happens that the last 4 tenants before me, never had a landline!

My Regie insists that there shouldn't be a problem with swisscom.
Swisscom says that they cannot detect a valid phone line in my apartment.

Others in my building have a land line...
Any suggestions>?

Do I have to call out an electrician ?

Can anyone please recommend a good/reasonable electrician than can set this up.

Forgot to add - I live in Geneva.

Yes, you need a qualified electrician to connect the phone line in the basement of the building to the wires going to your apartment

your landlord will have the name of the electrician used for your building.

I was in the same situation, You can call swisscom support and tell them that you dont speak german(may be french in your case) and ask them to fix an appoinment. They will be happy to do that. Depending on the place it should cost you from 50chf to 100chf.
