English-German Dictionary for my Itouch?

Hi does anyone know of an German-English application for my Itouch. I don't want to access the words on-line but have the whole dictionary downloaded.

Thanks, Julia

Re: English-German Dictionary for my Itouch?

I've got PONS English/German dictionary on my iphone. I don't know if it works on the ipod touch but I'm guessing it does. It's fully downloaded onto the phone so doesn't need internet connection to work. Cost about 5GBP (I bought it before I moved to Switzerland on my UK iphone).

So far has been really useful. Has about 200,000 words and also 'speaks' a lot of them so you know how they are pronounced as well.

I have Ultralingua. Works great. Cost me around £10 at the time. Could be cheaper now.

Re: English-German Dictionary for my Itouch?

Collins for a dictionary, it has full conjugation and a lot of prepositions along with all of the cases. By far the best I've found, and I've tried a lot.

And iSpeak for a spoken app. It'll translate sentences, but as will all translators, it's not exactly natural sounding, and sometimes is completely unintelligible.

Again though, these are both running on iPhone, don't see why they wouldn't work on the touch though.

Re: English-German Dictionary for my Itouch?

There are a lot of dictionaries, if you search.

Pons has several versions - a business at CHF 40-ish
and advanced at CHF 28 and some lesser versions. (these are english <-> German)Collins has some under CHF 10... it sort of depends on what you want. Search for german english dictionary and dictonary & translator.

Oh... not sure if these work on iTouch.

I use one called Quickdic on my android phone, I'm pretty sure it's available for the iphone too. It works well and it's free!

I'd recommend Ultralingua as well. It's a universal app so it's iPad compatible too, it's got all the verb conjugations for the different tenses and a simple calculator style number converter (gives you the words for a number)

I use both Ultralingua and Collins on my iPhone.

Collins is generally better, but Ultralingua gives you verb tables.
