Re: The Android pad thread

Does anyone have idea about when Google Nexus 7 tablet will be availbale in Switzerland?
I just heard it is planned to be launched in France on 3rd of September, including other EU countries, but these are not named.
There might be a pre-order somewhere?

Re: The Android pad thread

Thanks for the info. Of course, I'm looking for the regular price, 200 USD, or even 200 EUR sounds reasonable for this device.

I believe you'll quite like it. My iPad is now primarily at work where I use it to display my lesson plans. At home, for browsing the web, reading books etc., the Nexus 7 is really good.
The other option was a Samsung Galaxy Tab-2 7inch. I can pick one up for £170 (after cash back) and it has a micro-SD card slot. Its dual as opposed to quad core and comes with ICS as opposed to Jelly Bean.

Shall I stick with the Nexus or return and get the Galaxy? Its 30 quid cheaper, has memory expansion and the build quality will be better than Asus.

Re: The Android pad thread

Where did you get your nexus?

Though I didn't have them in my hands, I heard that the nexus build quality is surprisingly good. Isn't that correct?

Ordered it from Curry's in the UK, my brother collected it in store together with a VAT receipt so should be £180 all in for a 16gb model.

Re: The Android pad thread

What I read is that it can. But I would appreciate a user confirmation based on personal experience as well.

Anyway, what do you mean HD? 720 or 1080? I believe 720 is more than enough on such a small screen.

Re: The Android pad thread

Well, only one complete movie will then consume most of your internal storage.

i think most android phones tablets can, since they normally have hardware assisted playback.

M electronics is selling the Galaxy Tab 8.9 Wi-Fi 16 GB for 50% OFF

Old price CHF 444, now for CHF 222

The sale should be from 21.08 - 3.09 (in the limits of stock).

Probably clearing stock for the new 10" model.
Could someone please let me know whether this deal is worth? I have a 3G USB device. Does it work with this tab?

I am going to buy a pad and consider the following options (1) iPad (missed the last weekend offer) (2) Google Nexus (3) **any other good pads**

I will be using it for browsing, Skype video calls, reading PDFs, etc. Any recommendations?

Many thanks for your response.

i think it is a good deal (assuming you can still get it).

i'm not a fan of this format. not portable, unlike the 7" and not as much viewing area as the 10"+
