| | Cablecom cracking down on dreambox owners?
I saw this story in 20mins [1] on the train this morning, and was wondering if anyone has had problems using the dreambox to view cablecom channels?
Thanks

Agree so far it's kaput . I have a man working on the problem. Am suffering Swiss TV right now and it's complete shite.

As I understood it, it's still a symmetric encryption scheme - while the colleagues at work assumed that the keys cannot be read out from one of the cards, they are not personalized and if a key "leaks" out, it can be used.
People should just ask themselves if the TV-program is worth the money (well, any money, really) and decide accordingly.

By my reckoning it'll be christmas time at least before it's fixed. |

We shall see. Am optimistic.
Fall back is Bluewin TV which carries the channels I want. For 29chf per month no issue. Cabelcom fills me with dread and would not go there.
So question - Bluewin or CC for essentially the same TV offering?? | Quote: | | | | | Doesn't matter who you have working on it, they changed the master key, which makes it more difficult than before for people to crack it. My cable provider allows you to choose which digital receiver you use. I've a dreambox and it works fine.
Maybe Cablecom should change their business model.

Rich- Why not get a subscription? With the deals they have at the moment it will cost you 20 or less a month to get their 160 channel package. The only channels you'll be missing are the pron, which I'm sure you can source elsewhere, the non-Swiss non-English foreign language channels (obviously life changing) and teleclub. I can understand losing teleclub being a pain for some, but you're not a religious football fan and you can get the films elsewhere.
I thought long and hard about getting a dreambox, but 20 a month vs 500 or so for the dreambox and all the hassle that comes with it, made me shell out for it. The cablecom box is an HD PVR now too.

PLuss CC are doing a 3 for 2 thingy which evens it out, i'll see if I can get that too. http://www.cablecom.ch/en/b2c/3for2.htm |

Is anyone using a CI+ card in a dreambox? Does anyone know whether this is possible?

Until then, Teleclub channels are still working.

I have it on good authority that the Dreambox keys are now amended, and back up and running... business as usual. | The following 2 users would like to thank Chuff for this useful post: | |
