I am planning to start using my blackberry with Swisscom. Currently I use it on my italian number with Vodafone.

The fundamental question is this one: Can anybody confirm/test if you get emails/bb messages when only connected via Wi-Fi?

I'm asking because it apparently depends from the carrier. When I travel abroad and I disable my data connection over GSM, I am still able to get all the blackberry features via Wifi (in a hotel or my home connection), but friends using a different carrier (TIM for example) cannot do so, they can just browse the web.

I will try to ask Swisscom, but usually users know more than them, so I thought I'd post here first.

I have used that in the past and it worked like a charm. However, I don't know if they still allow it.
