Billag'd for radio tax? I don't even have a radio

I searched the forums for an answer but there's too much on TVs, nothing on radio.

All i have is cablecom internet and a laptop. The billag dude said I have to pay the radio tax. I don't listen to radio at all. WTF?

Yep, you only need to have the ability to listen be it on your laptop or in your car. Whether you actually ever listen to anything on the radio is irrelevant.

Don't waste your energy trying to get your head around the Billag system. It is just one of those sh*>ty little things put in place which can only be considered a tax. It does not have anything to do with what I watch on TV or listen to on the radio but at least it doesn't get spent on nuclear weapons or keeping single mothers of 6.

You are paying for the possibility of listen to the radio, not for using it.
I Think it is not worth the hassle , to fight against billag.
Pay every 3 Months the 42.25 sfr ..........
Or sell your moblie/laptop, seal the cablecom connections in the wall and your are free ...........

Did you wait for them to come to you and ask for payment?

When I moved here (well after a couple of months), despite having a tv but no means of receiving a signal (it's hooked up to the xbox and pc) I went on their website and signed up for the tv licence, but not the radio. They gave me a month or two for free for being honest and have never hassled me about a radio licence.
