Re: Orange contract

I guess with orange the mimimum period you have to be on the contract is 6 months. If you get the letter from the Canton(saying that you are leaving/ no longer staying in Swiss, i do not know the right term for it) and take it to Orange shop, they will cancel it.

I know of people who have done it before.

Re: Orange contract

I'll use this topic to ask the following.

I'm thinking of doing an orange contract for one year, for already I just want a cheaper mobile phone, for example the sony xperia x10 later if I want an iPhone during this year I can ask for a price more affordable? or would it make a new contract?

Re: Orange contract

In Orange site:

If you cancel your contract before its expiry date, you will incur an early termination fee.

If you wish to cancel before the expiry date, a fee will be charged according to the length of the extension (CHF 300.— for 12 months and CHF 500.— for 24 months / iPhone customers: CHF 600.- for 12 months and CHF 800.- for 24 months).

Deadline: your cancellation request must reach us at least 30 days before the date your contract is due to end.

Re: Orange contract

I spent a long time negotiating this with Orange recently when I signed up. If you present a genuine reason for leaving, e.g. a letter from your Gemeinde that your permit has been revoked / handed back, they should waive any fees if you've paid the subscription for more than 6 months.

If you've only paid a few months, perhaps it is better to pay a few more to avoid the larger cancellation fee?

Re: Orange contract

The other news from Orange: they're changing Unlimited tariff now by excluding contries of zone 3 from the "unlimited" limit (actually it is 3000 mins).

So I called to Orange and they told me that if I'm unhappy about it there is a possibility to cancel the contract (1.5 years left!) without any fee. Moreover, I can leave the phone (worth now ca. 550 CHF) and of course without any penalties... Could someone confirm if this is true? Where's the catch?

Maybe I should get written confirmation about it from Orange?

If that's what they said on the phone then why didn't you cancel it immediately?

Because they broke the contract. Orange in the UK have done this before as well and you get to keep the phone.

Jump on the opportunity. I'd be phoning them if I had the unlimited package!
